Río San Juan is a municipality of approximately 240 km2 in the María Trinidad Sánchez province, located on the north-east coast of the Dominican Republic (also called Costa verde or Amber coast). It counts nearly 17 000 inhabitants, half  of them living in urban areas .

With a young population and many shops, this typical dominican fishing town makes the pride of its people, whether Riosanjuaneros (or Riosanjuanenses) the whole year, every season or just for some rest hours.

If Río San Juan rouses itself during the touristic season (from December to April, and June to August), it currently escapes to mass tourism, so remains a haven of peace that has kept all its charm and authenticity.
